Desensitizing toothpaste| sensitivity
Desensitizing toothpaste is formulated with active ingredients such as potassium nitrate, strontium chloride, or stannous fluoride.
These compounds work by occluding or blocking the dentinal tubules, reducing fluid movement and nerve stimulation in the dentin.
You can use any of the below-mentioned toothpaste containing desensitizing agents for sensitivity in teeth. All the products are dentist recommended and can be used daily.

This helps alleviate tooth sensitivity by reducing the transmission of pain signals.
Chemical ingredients or agents found in desensitizing toothpaste for dentin hypersensitivity include:
1. Potassium Nitrate
Potassium nitrate is the most commonly used desensitizing agent. It helps block the nerve impulses in the tooth, reducing sensitivity.
In the market, Potassium nitrate-containing toothpaste comes under 3% and 5%.
Available with or without fluoride. One can use any. If you have fluorosis in your teeth but suffer from hot or cold sensitivity then you will use non-fluoridated anti-sensitivity toothpaste.
Emoform Toothpaste 5 % (with calcium carbonate and no fluoride content)

Herbal / Ayurvedic sensitivity toothpaste
HIORA-K Himalaya Toothpaste (with potassium nitrate)

2. Strontium Chloride
Strontium chloride and strontium acetate are desensitizing agents used in some dental products. It works by reducing nerve sensitivity and providing relief from hypersensitivity.
Sensodyne Rapid Relief ( with 1000 ppm sodium fluoride)

3. Fluoride
Fluoride is widely used in oral care products, including desensitizing toothpaste. It helps strengthen the tooth enamel and reduce sensitivity by promoting remineralization. A maximum of the toothpaste mentioned in this blog are fluoride-containing so you can you anyone available.
4. Bioactive glass
Certain toothpaste formulations incorporate bioactive glass particles, such as calcium sodium phosphosilicate. These particles are designed to deposit on the tooth surface and help block open dentinal tubules, reducing sensitivity.

Vantej Toothpaste ( without fluoride and with calcium sodium phosphosilicate)

SHY-NM Toothpaste ( No fluoride and with calcium sodium phosphosilicate, and artificial sweetener Potassium Acesulfame )

6. Arginine
Some toothpaste contains arginine, an amino acid that interacts with calcium in the saliva to form a protective layer on the exposed dentin. This layer can help block the dentinal tubules and provide relief from sensitivity.
Colgate Sensitive Plus ( with Arginine and 1000 ppm Sodium mono fluorophosphate fluoride)

6. Novamin
Novamin, also known as amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP), is a compound that releases calcium and phosphate ions. It can help remineralize and repair the tooth structure, potentially reducing sensitivity.
Gc Tooth Mousse ( Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate, CPP-ACP)

Sensodyne Repair & Protect ( with Novamin and 927ppm sodium fluoride )

Zerosense toothpaste (with Novamin)

7. Hydroxyapatite
Hydroxyapatite is a naturally occurring mineral that is similar to the composition of tooth enamel. Toothpaste containing hydroxyapatite has been found to help seal exposed dentinal tubules and reduce sensitivity.
Aclaim Toothpaste ( with hydroxyapatite and no fluoride)

Desensitizing mouthwash| sensitivity
Hiora - K Mouthwash (Herbal Mouthwash for sensitivity)

Senquel-AD Mouthwash (Potassium Nitrate 3% Mouthwash for Sensitivity in teeth)

Soft-bristled toothbrush| Sensitivity

A soft or extra soft-bristled toothbrush is recommended for individuals with sensitive teeth.
The soft, gentle bristles effectively remove plaque and debris without causing additional enamel wear or gum irritation
Brushing with medium or hard-bristled brushes can cause the gum tissue to recede, exposing the sensitive root surfaces of the teeth.
Over time, aggressive brushing with a medium or hard-bristled toothbrush can wear down the protective enamel layer, making your teeth more prone to sensitivity and decay.
The brush head may have a compact design to ensure better access to all areas of the mouth.
Fluoride mouthwash| sensitivity
Fluoride mouthwashes contain fluoride ions, which promote remineralization of the tooth enamel. This remineralization process helps strengthen the enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. The mouthwash is typically used as a rinse after brushing and flossing to deliver the fluoride to the tooth surfaces.
Flurosid mouthwash

Fluoritop Mouthwash
